Electric bike

This is a homebuilt electric assisted bike using an ex wheelchair motor/gearbox As it's 24v a car battery and 1 deep cycle battery is used - not exactly a match but still functional. The motor drives the cranks through a ratchet so the rider can pedal without the electric motor driving allowing the use of all the bikes gears.

Electric tandem bike

This is a homebuilt electric assisted tandem bike (which is still only part finished) using a US Pro Drive motor/speed controller. The motor drives the cranks through a ratchet so the rider can pedal without the electric motor driving allowing the use of all the bikes gears. A 2 stroke petrol weed trimmer motor in coupled to a electric motor/generator to charge the 2x7AH batteries as well as give electric start to the weed trimmer motor.

2 x 12v 7AH batteries.

Petrol powered bike

A 100:1 gearbox drives the cranks through a ratchet so the rider can pedal without the motor going. Motor is a small Robin 2 stroke weed trimmer variety. The bike can't be pushed backwards as the gearbox worm drive doesn't allow the pedals to be reversed.
